Antalya's coastline is full of beautiful hotels — but not all of them are actually built for a post-surgical recovery. Here's what we look for before we'll put a patient there.
Quiet matters more than luxury
A hotel with a lively pool bar and a full events calendar is wonderful for a normal holiday and genuinely disruptive during recovery. We favour calmer properties — often smaller, adults-focused hotels — over the biggest all-inclusive resorts.
What a genuinely recovery-friendly hotel offers
- Ground-floor or lift access, and rooms away from elevators and stairwells
- In-room dining with a menu that can accommodate post-op dietary restrictions
- A calm pool area with shade — not a full day of direct sun
- Staff briefed on your recovery needs before you arrive
- Easy, short transfers back to your clinic for follow-up visits
The sea air genuinely helps — but timing matters
Gentle sea breeze, mild temperatures and quiet mornings do support recovery — but direct sun and swimming are usually restricted for the first 2-3 weeks post-surgery, depending on procedure. A good hotel accommodates a patient who wants shade and rest, not just sunbathing guests.
We book these hotels ourselves — not from a listing site
Every Antalya hotel in our network has been visited by our team specifically to assess recovery suitability, not just star rating. If it isn't a place we'd recommend to a friend recovering from surgery, it isn't in our network.
